Although the US has opened its borders to foreign visitors, the US Department of State has urged all people to avoid traveling to another two European Union Member States because their epidemiological condition has worsened.
The Department of State has issued a 'Level Four: Do Not Go' advisory for Germany and Denmark, adding to the list of nations to which US citizens are strongly recommended not to travel.
“The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a Level 4 Travel Health Notice for Denmark due to COVID-19, indicating a very high level of COVID-19 in the country. There are restrictions in place affecting US citizen entry into Denmark,” the travel advice issued for Denmark reads. The same advice was also issued for Germany
The two nations' travel cautions were issued Monday, November 22, after Germany and Denmark reported increasing infection rates.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), Germany recorded 340,509 infection cases in the past seven days, while Denmark reported 26,769 infection cases, according to SchengenVisaInfo.com.
The highest advisory level is 'Level Four: Do Not Travel.' This implies that all Americans, particularly those who haven't recovered or been vaccinated against the virus, are at a higher risk of becoming infected while visiting countries where a travel alert is now in effect.
As a result, in order to reduce the risk of infection, the US Centers for Disease Prevention and Control recommends that all persons who must go to one of the countries with travel advisories be completely immunized with one of the jabs approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Except for Germany and Denmark, which were recently added to the list, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Switzerland are also on the list.
On November 8, the United States lifted its immigration prohibition for 26 Schengen Area nations, as well as the United Kingdom, South Africa, Ireland, Brazil, China, and India. Since then, overseas visitors have been permitted to visit the United States as long as they meet all of the immunization and other admission requirements.
All vaccinations recommended by the FDA and WHO are presently accepted for travel by US authorities.
