BOSTON—Prosecutors and defense lawyers are scheduled to deliver opening statements Monday in the first trial tied to the Varsity Blues college-admissions scandal, with two parents facing a jury on charges of fraud and bribery conspiracy.

Gamal Abdelaziz, a former Wynn Resorts executive, and John Wilson, a private-equity investor, stand accused of working with former college counselor William “Rick” Singer to fraudulently pitch their children as star athletes and bribing staff at the University of Southern California to have them flagged as recruits.
