Caeleb Dressel joins company with Michael Phelps, Mark Spitz and Matt Biondi with five golds

Swimmer Caeleb Dressel becomes the fourth American to join the elite club of swimmers with five gold medals at a single Olympic season.

 Dressel won his fifth gold at the Tokyo Olympics with the 4x100 meters relay. 

East Germany’s Kristin Otto is the only non-American swimmer to bag five golds at the Olympics. 

Dressel joins Michael Phelps, Mark Spitz, and Matt Biondi to be the fourth American to do so. Michael Phelps has done so in three Olympics.

Dressel's fourth Gold came in 50 meters freestyle which he dashed in 21.07 seconds.

Dressel swept the 50 and 100 freestyle races, to along with a world-record triumph in the 100 butterflies and a leg on the winning U.S. team in the 4x100 free relay. And he still had one more chance to make it five medals on the final day of swimming at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre.
