As the former school teacher took oath as the president of Peru on Wednesday, he promised to transform fractured Peru.
Castillo, son of a farmer and a school teacher in the rural area, is a member of the Far-left party Peru-Libre which adheres to the principle of Marxism-Mariáteguism and Marxist-Leninist Anti-imperialism.
His presidency means a lot to the general people of Peru as he was walking barefoot to milk the cow while he won the first round of the election.
“We don't want to make changes for the sake of making them. But the State must be free to regulate according to the interests of the majority. We will execute what the people decide ”, he said in an address thanking people who voted for him and those who did not.
He promised a total transformation of the state including important changes in the constitution.
His rise to power threatens the American Hegemony and signals the return of the far-left in Latin America.
