Two men were injured in a shooting in Washington, DC, on Thursday evening, which drove commuters and diners fleeing a busy downtown street as guns rang out.

The shooting occurred five days after three people were injured outside the city's Nationals Park, causing chaos inside the game.

According to WUSA 9, gunshots went out near 14th Street and Riggs Street in a busy portion of the city near Logan Circle on Thursday, sending diners scurrying.

According to accounts, one of the victims was shot in the arm and the other in the chest.

According to the local station, police stated the gunshot was part of a targeted attack and not a random event.

According to social media sources, a number of reporters in DC's press corps were nearby when the gunfire rang out, and some were forced to flee.

“This happened while my husband and I were at Mexicue. We bolted for cover. I'm grateful to be alive. Jessica Smith, a reporter for Yahoo Finance, tweeted, "What a terrifying night."

“Just heard what sounded like gunshots on NW DC's 14th Street. “People fleeing the popular Le Diplomate restaurant, which appeared to be only a few blocks away,” CNN anchor Jim Acosta wrote on Twitter.

The attack was confirmed after police discovered the automobile linked to the Saturday night shooting that injured three people and left fans and players fleeing. The perpetrators of that crime are still on the loose.
