On Saturday, the Australian state of New South Wales announced 50 new coronavirus cases, with the state premier warning that the outbreak in Sydney will “get worse before it gets better.”
Thirty-seven of the cases spent at least part of their infectious time in the community, with 26 spendings the entire period in the community.
Gladys Berejiklian, Premier of New South Wales, said the number of infected persons in the community was “the number we need to get down to as close to zero as possible.”
She stated, "The only conclusion we can draw is that things will become worse before they get better."
The cases came from about 42,000 tests in the 24 hours to 8 pm Friday.
