Hawaii governor declares a state of emergency on the state after heavy rains causing extensive damage and forced evacuations.

The National Weather Service issued flash flood emergencies in the different parts of the island.

Hawaii has seen two days of heavy rain nearly up to two feet in some areas. People are forced to evacuate following the flood in the region.

"I’ve just signed an emergency proclamation for the State of Hawai‘i after heavy rains and flooding caused extensive damage to both public and private property across the island," the state governor David Ige wrote on Twitter.

"The emergency proclamation makes state general funds available that can be used quickly and efficiently to help those impacted by the severe weather, which is expected to continue until Friday," he added.

"This disaster has caused damages, losses, and suffering of such character and magnitude to warrant rehabilitative assistance from the State," the statement for the proclamation of the state of emergency read.
