A golfer in Florida, US is reportedly believed to have drowned after falling into a golf club pond while he was searching his lost ball, police say.

The accident was reported to have taken place on Sunday. Hermilo Jazmines, a resident of Lutz, was busy golfing with his pal, whose identity has not been released, at the East Lake Woodlands country club in Oldsmar.

Deputies helped the Fire Department look for Hermilo as they were called after he was reported missing. The release said:

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office dive team responded and located Jazmines submerged in the water near his putter. He was pronounced deceased on the scene.

Preliminary investigation suggests Jazmines may have fallen into the water and drowned.
