A senior Chinese diplomat has called on the new US administration to reopen the dialog between the two countries.
Senior Chinese diplomat Wang Yi has called on to reopen the dialog to restore the bilateral relationship damaged under the presidency of Donald Trump.
Chinese state councilor and Foreign minister Wang said that the Trump administration's action to suppress and contain China inflicted immeasurable harm and called on Washington to remove tariffs on Chinese goods.
He also called to remove the irrational suppression of the Chinese tech sector in the US market.
Wang also urged the US to respect China's territorial sovereignty and stop interfering in Beijing's internal affairs.
“Over the past few years, the United States basically cut off bilateral dialogue at all levels,” Wang said in a statement. “We stand ready to have candid communication with the U.S. side, and engage in dialogues aimed at solving problems.”
Wang also said that the recent call between Washington and Beijing is a positive step in improving bilateral relations.
