Biden Administration has stood up for its vow to enter the Paris Agreement.
President Joe Biden had announced that the US will be joining Paris Accords in just a few hours of being sworn as the US president.
The US formally re-entered the Paris Agreement, a global deal to cut carbon emissions and halt global warming on Friday.
The US Secretay of State called the Paris Agreement an unprecedented framework for global action, He also promised that the US will do more to tackle the problem of climate change.
Former US President Donald Trump has exited the pact in 2017. Trump said climate change is a hoax and will drain the economy.
“The Paris Agreement is … both simple and expansive: to help us all avoid catastrophic planetary warming and to build resilience around the world to the impacts from climate change we already see,” Mr. Blinken said in a statement.
President Biden has pledged to put the United States on the track to completely end the carbon emissions by 250 to a net-zero level.
Under the Paris Agreement, most world governments have pledged to keep global warming below 2°C above pre-industrial times and to strive to limit temperature rises to 1.5°C.
