The incoming White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki told in her first White House Briefing that Canadian Prime-Minister, Justin Trudeau will be the first foreign leader whom Joe Biden will call as the President of the United States.

The agenda of the call will be the fate of the controversial Keystone XL pipeline.

Psaki said in the briefing they will be discussing the “important relationship” of the two countries and Biden's decision to halt the construction of the pipeline.

Trudeau said shortly after Biden took office that he was "disappointed" by Biden's decision to halt the construction.

Trudeau released a statement saying, “While we welcome the president’s commitment to fight climate change, we are disappointed but acknowledge the President’s decision to fulfill his election campaign promise on Keystone XL. 

I look forward to working with President Biden to reduce pollution, combat climate change, fight Covid-19, create middle-class jobs, and build back better by supporting a sustainable economic recovery for everyone.”
