On Monday, the FBI announced charges against an additional number of Capitol rioters, including a member of a Texan far-right militia.
Feds have newly unsealed criminal charges against the participants of the storming of the Capitol by pro-Trump supporters on the 6th of January, among which is a Texan citizen Guy Reffitt. He was allegedly a member of a Texan far-right militia group “Texas Freedom Force,”. Reffitt has also been accused of threatening to shoot his kids if they snitched and turned him in to the FBI.
According to the FBI and the prosecutors, Reffitt was part of a paramilitary organization, the Texas Freedom Fighters, lobbying to defend Confederate symbols, alongside having ties with extremists.
Allegedly, Reffitt's children were "disturbed" by his "extreme" comments. When frightened, he reportedly threatened them, "If you turn me in, you're a traitor and you know what's going on with the traitors... traitors are shot."
His wife provided investigators with details about the conflict.
