On August 23 2020, a black man named Jacob Blake was shot by the police, seven times in the back. Blake however survived but was left paralyzed from waist down.

Kenosha District Attorney , Michael Graveley said Tuesday," It is my decision now that no Kenosha law enforcement officer will be charged with any criminal offense based on the facts and laws."

The incident and the judge's response has once again raised the question, Do the black lives really matter, in the eyes of US Law enforcement?

The summer last year has seen a lot of protests against the several killing of black people by the police. Including those of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor. All the police on the scene are still on administrative leave.

Gravely said Blake had a knife with him so he was not unarmed. He also said he was resisting himself with knife hence there was a significant threat for the police to act on.

He countered the investigators saying the video did not show the full truth. Blake however, wont face any charges because resisting the police was his self defense instinct.

Many activists have been against the District attorney's decision and the racial injustice in America has yet again been put in the spotlight.
