On Thursday, Estonia announced that it had designated all Hezbollah operatives as a terrorist group and would impose sanctions on the organization.

The decision was applauded by Israel's foreign ministry.

"The decision of the Estonian government to recognize Hezbollah as a terrorist organization, including all its wings, and to bar members of the group from entering the country sends a clear message against terrorism and against the terrorist activities of Hezbollah that threaten world peace and undermine regional stability," said Gabi Ashkenazi, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Latvia, and other countries that have recognized Hezbollah as a terrorist organization is joining Estonia, which serves as a member of the UN Security Council.

Israel has called on other nations and the European Union to join the Hezbollah campaign and outlaw its operations. The European Union recognizes the military wing of Hezbollah, but not the political wing of it.
