Former Vice President Joe Biden, the Democratic National Committee, and affiliated joint fundraising committees entered the month of September with $466 million cash on hand, a massive stockpile that will aid the Democratic nominee's effort to unseat President Donald Trump in November, a Biden campaign official confirmed to ABC News on Sunday evening.

That sum is over $140 million more than President Trump, the Republican National Committee and affiliated joint fundraising committees have on hand, which at the beginning of September was $325 million, according to Trump campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh.

"45 days out, @TeamTrump is in strong position. Combined w/ @GOP we'll show $325M cash on hand, @realDonaldTrump energetically campaigning, huge volunteer army has made 102M voter contacts & we'll have 2X or 3X the cash as in 2016. Enthusiasm is with Trump. Biden excites no one," Murtaugh tweeted on Friday.
