After receiving a bomb threat alert, police searched a Ryanair passenger plane that landed at Athens International Airport on Sunday for any suspicious objects, according to police officials.
One of the individuals stated that the pilot of the Boeing 737 aeroplane with approximately 190 passengers and personnel on board had previously notified authorities of a possible explosive device on board.
At 5:35 p.m., the plane travelling from Katowice, Poland, to Athens, Greece, was accompanied by two fighter jets (1535 GMT). As it landed, firefighting engines were on standby.
Later, as passengers disembarked and their luggage was queued up outside the aircraft, police conducted searches.
