According to her death certificate, Betty White died of a stroke six days before her Dec. 31 death at 99.

According to the LA County death certificate obtained Monday by The Associated Press, the famed "Golden Girls" and "Mary Tyler Moore Show" performer died at her Brentwood home on Dec. 25 due to a cerebrovascular accident, the medical term for a stroke.

As is customary in such circumstances, the cause was provided by White's physician.

On Friday, she was cremated, and her ashes were delivered to Glenn Kaplan, the individual in charge of White's advanced health care directive.

White had been sticking near to her Los Angeles home during the pandemic, according to Jeff Witjas, White's longtime agent and friend.

White's legal name is Betty Marion Ludden, according to the certificate. She adopted the surname of her late husband Allen Ludden, with whom she was married from 1963 to 1981.

TMZ was the first to report on the facts from the death certificate.

White, whose comedic abilities and can-do attitude made her a television staple for almost 60 years and a beloved figure to many generations of fans, died less than three weeks before her 100th birthday.

Following her passing, President Joe Biden, Mel Brooks, and a slew of other celebrities and influential politicians paid tribute to her.
