Hezbollah in Iraq accused the US of the resurgence of terrorist attacks, as part of a plot to keep its soldiers in the nation, according to a statement issued on social media on Wednesday.
“The recent criminal acts and their escalation are in the tools of the Zionist-US-Saudi axis,” the text states.
The memo relates to previous attacks in the Diyala, Makhmour, and Basra districts, with which the US is attempting to create the impression that withdrawing its soldiers will jeopardize the country's security.
According to an agreement between the Iraqi and US governments, Pentagon personnel would leave Mesopotamia on December 31.
Only about 2,500 US military troops will stay to provide training and advice.
The rejection of the United States in Iraq is clear owing to sovereignty breaches, such as the killings of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani and Deputy Commander of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, in January 2020.
