According to local media, the Russian Federal Veterinary and Phytosanitary Control Service (Rosseljoznadzor) said on November 25 that it will resume imports of beef and pork from 12 Brazilian enterprises.
The decision was taken as a consequence of Brazilian authorities' efforts to comply with Russian standards, which allowed for discussions between Rosseljoznadzor chief executive Sergei Dankvert and Brazilian Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, and Supply Tereza Cristina Correa.
Russia will consider expanding the list of Brazilian enterprises licensed to provide beef to the nation in the future, with the goal of boosting their number.
According to TASS, Rosseljoznadzor imposed temporary limitations on the import of Brazilian cattle, pork, and byproducts in late 2017.
