Three persons were hurt in a knife assault on a train between Regensburg and Nuremberg early today, according to the mass daily Bild's web version, which also stated that the perpetrator had been apprehended by police.

According to Bild, there were no immediate details about the attacker's identity, the victims' injuries, or the severity of their injuries.

The train had been delayed at Seubersdorf, southeast of Nuremberg, when the incident occurred at 0830 GMT near Neumarkt.
