More than 6,600 fully vaccinated Americans died of COVID-19

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 6,600 fully vaccinated Americans have died due to COVID-19 despite being fully vaccinated.

The CDC said 6,617 COVID deaths were recorded as of the fourth of October were among the fully vaccinated Americans.

Of the overall number of deaths, 86 percent (5,660) occurred in persons 65 and older; 44 percent (2,902) occurred in female patients, and 15 percent (968) comprised patients who did not display coronavirus-related symptoms or whose deaths were unrelated to COVID-19.

According to the CDC, at least 16,889 completely vaccinated Americans have been hospitalized with COVID-19 since the outbreak began. Patients aged 65 and older accounted for the vast majority of hospitalizations (67 percent).

Females accounted for at least 49 percent of hospitalizations, with the remaining 15 percent involving patients who were asymptomatic or hospitalized for causes other than COVID-19.

Despite this, COVID-19 fatalities and hospitalizations in the United States have been slowly reducing and are projected to continue to drop over the next four weeks. According to the CDC, there would be 740,000 to 762,000 fatalities by November 6. According to Johns Hopkins University, the United States has currently reported 719,452 coronavirus-related fatalities.

According to the estimate, there might be up to 10,100 additional confirmed COVID-19 hospitalizations by November 5. According to Health and Human Services data, there were 62,800 COVID-19 patients in hospitals as of Wednesday.

Despite the anticipated drop in newly reported admissions and fatalities, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation's top infectious disease specialist, cautioned of another possible rise, emphasizing that the virus is still not under control.

“We had an acceleration. We had a peak. … All three of the parameters — cases, hospitalizations, and deaths — are going down. But we have got to do better than that,” the Washington Post quoted Dr. Fauci.  “We can get to control, without a doubt. It is within our power and our capability.”

As of Wednesday, the United States has fully vaccinated 56.6 percent of its entire population. In addition, at least 65.6 percent had received one dose of COVID-19 vaccination.
