A man in his 30s has died after receiving significant injuries in a shark attack on the north coast of New South Wales, according to emergency officials.

Emergency services have confirmed that a man died after sustaining "significant" injuries after a shark attack on the NSW north coast.

In the Coffs Harbour attack, the man, who is believed to be in his 30s, was bitten on the arm.

"Paramedics are responding to reports of a shark attack at Emerald Beach just north of Coffs Harbour," NSW Ambulance said on social media.

Four ambulance personnel and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter were dispatched to assist with CPR on the man, who had "significant" damage to his arm.

On Sunday, just before 11 a.m., the attack occurred.
