The weather in Florida has started to worsen the state gets hit by the tropical storm, Elsa.
National Hurricane Center of Miami warned of life-threatening storm surges, flooding, and isolated tornadoes.
A hurricane watch was issued for a long stretch of coastline, from Egmont Key at the mouth of Tampa Bay to the Steinhatchee River in Florida’s Big Bend area.
The worsening weather has also hampered the search for survivors in the collapsed condo at Surfside, Florida.
Search and rescue crews have worked through the rain but must pause when lightning threatens, and a garage area in the pancaked debris already filled with water on Monday, officials said.
The death tolls at the debris have reached 28 and 117 people are still missing. The chances to find survivors are negligible.
