The death tolls due to the collapse of a condo in Miami have risen to three and more than a hundred are still trapped inside the debris of the collapsed building as the rescue operation is underway.
White House has declared a state of emergency in the state of Florida. The US president Joe Biden ordered federal assistance to supplement state and local response efforts.
"The President's action authorizes the Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), to coordinate all disaster relief efforts," the White House said.
A child was among those rescued from the rubble of the Miami apartment building collapse, but its mother had to have her leg amputated.
At at least three people were killed and many others were pulled from rubble from the beachfront apartment building that partially collapsed outside Miami on Thursday.
