A senior Chinese expert for Diseases said that the priority of the probe of COVID-19 origins should shift from China to the United States.

Then remarks come following a study showing the disease could have been circulating in the US as early as December 2019.

A study that was published by the United States National Institutes of Health (NIH) showed that there were at least seven people infected with the SARS-COV-2 virus (that causes COVID-19) in five different U.S. states, weeks before the first official cases were reported.

Chief epidemiologist for CDC like the body of the Chinese government, Zeng Guang said to the Global Times that the attention should be shifting to the United States. He said that the US was slow to test people in the earliest stage of the outbreak and is also home to many bio-labs.

"All bio-weapons related subjects that the country has should be subject to scrutiny," he was quoted as saying.

Commenting on the study on Wednesday, foreign ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said it was now "obvious" that the COVID-19 outbreak had "multiple origins" and that other countries should cooperate with the World Health Organization (WHO).

The government at the White House is constantly triggering the center of COVID-19 origins being Wuhan Institute of Virology, despite the WHO report saying the case not being such.

The United States' approach of constantly putting China-lab theory has risen the political tensions between the US and China.

A previous study has raised the possibility that SARS-CoV-2 could have been circulating in Europe as early as September.

There is no conclusive evidence if the virus was emerged in China or not.
