Alaska becomes the first US state to make the COVID vaccines available to everyone over 16 who works or lives in the state.
Alaska's Governor Mike Dunleavy said that he could not be prouder of Alaska's response to the Pandemic.
16.4% of the Alaska population has been fully vaccinated and 23.6% have been administered at least one dose of vaccine by now in Alaska.
While the other states are preparing vaccine rollouts for the elderly and high-risk groups, Alaska plans to make it available for everyone over 18.
Governor said that more than 90% of elderly people have been vaccinated in some of the regions in the state.
“A healthy community means a healthy economy. With widespread vaccinations available to all Alaskans who live or work here, we will no doubt see our economy grow and our businesses thrive,” Dunleavy said
