Chinese hackers have been accused of breaking into the main servers of at least 30,000 US companies and stealing confidential data.
The institutions affected by the cyberattack are both government and private institution
The hackers used Microsoft Exchange Server software to gain access to the company's network.
The hackers broke into the email accounts of all the companies and stole information exchanged between employees and the office.
The hacker took control of thousands of Microsoft Exchange servers around the world, according to a cybersecurity expert who provided information on such cyber attacks.
Exchange servers are mainly used by business customers.
Microsoft says it is deeply sorry for the flaw in its security system and the company is committed to improving it.
This is the eighth such attack in the last 12 months.
