Vitoria Police have started an investigation after a statue of Queen Elizabeth II was found beheaded in Beacon Hill Park on Wednesday.
The officers are trying to solve if the discovery has any connection with two recent violent attacks around the area. Numerous acts of vandalism, spraying of graffiti on the public as well as private properties were seen in the perimeter.
A man was reportedly arrested after attacking a bylaw staff within a local park. A Police officer added he was arrested at a gunpoint and that's not something they do every day.
Mayor Lisa has quoted the action of defacing the statue as "completely unacceptable".
Victoria Police said the head has not been recovered yet
