A New York man dies when the device he was building to be used at a child gender reveal party exploded.
New York State Police confirmed on Monday that a 28-year-old man Christopher Pekny died in a blast while his 27-year-old brother Michael got injured.
Authorities said that the man was building a device to be used at a child gender reveal party, which was exploded.
The 27-year-old was transported to Garnet Medical Center in Middletown. The police have not given information about his condition.
Trooper Steven Nevel told NBC News that he was preparing a prototype of the revel prop that was not meant to harm anyone.
Nevel said, "It was just an innocent prop for a gender reveal that went horribly wrong."
