Since the dogs were tamed for around 20,000 years and possibly as many as 40,000, they have remained the most loyal companions of the human. Along with varying breeds, they come in all sizes, beauty, fur, and unique qualities of their own. The beagle is a breed of small hound that is similar in appearance to the much larger foxhound. The friendly dog has a great sense of smell and superior tracking instincts may bark a lot but it can do little when confronted with the intruder and can't be trusted with guarding the house. The easy-going happy personality, small size, good temper, and lack of inherited health problems makes it an excellent companion.
