South Africa has reopened 20 of its national borders yesterday. The borders were closed by the South African Government amidst the Pandemic.

Travelers can once again make a drive to South Africa through its international borders.

Travelers should have a valid medical certification indicating they do not have COVID 19. If travelers fail to show such a certificate they would have to undergo a flash antibody test at their own expense. In case somebody is tested positive, one would have to go in isolation for 10 days at his/her own expense.

According to the CEO of the Hospitality Association of Namibia (HAN), Ms. Gitta Paetzold, the reopening of South Africa's borders is gratifying with tourism flow increasing again.

"From this week, the flow of tourism numbers will hopefully increase across borders - just as the rivers currently flow under the bridges," says Paetzold.

"Everyone is eager to see the natural wonders - from the Augrabies Falls in the Northern Cape, the Orange River in the South to the Ugabri River in the North."

However in the cases of international flights travelers will be only allowed through the international airports of OR Tambo in Johannesburg, King Shaka Zulu in Durban, and Cape Town.
