On Thursday, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran's Supreme Leader posted a photo resembling former American president Donald Trump swearing 'revenge'.

The picture of a blond-haired man resembling the former President in a red shirt, with the menacing shadow of a stealth aircraft overhead, was included in a tweet from Khamenei's account.

According to a translation by Reuters, the text over the image referred to a comment made by Khamenei on Twitter last month, including the supreme leader's promise that the U.S. will face vengeance for the death of Qassem Soleimani, one of Iran's top generals, who was killed in Iraq last year by the U.S.

"Those who ordered the murder of General Soleimani should be prosecuted, as well as those who carried it out."

"This retaliation will probably occur at the right moment," Khamenei's statement stated, according to Reuters.
