America's top golfing body PGA has removed the PGA Championship, 2022 from Trump's golf course. PGA of America President Jim Richerson said that the decision was made when the board rightfully voted to “terminate the agreement” with Trump National in Bedminster, New Jersey.
The PGA of America has a membership of about 29,000 golf professionals who mostly teach the game. PGA signed the contract with trump in 2014.
The decision has come four days after the Trump supporters raided the US Congress at Capitol Hill while Congress was certifying Joe Biden's victory as the US President.
“It has become clear that conducting the P.G.A. Championship at Trump Bedminster would be detrimental to the P.G.A. of America brand, and would put at risk the P.G.A.’s ability to deliver our many programs, and sustain the longevity of our mission,” PGA of America President said in a video statement.
