Indonesian authorities have found signals that could have originated from a missing Sriwijaya Air Boeing 737-500 flight recorder.
In the meantime, citing Indonesian Navy official Wahyudin Arif, iNEWS has announced that the military discovered pieces of the human body and some debris (including a one-meter-long fragment of the fuselage of the plane).
Kompas TV later confirmed that divers were able to pick up signals with an underwater metal detector and pinger locator for the aircraft's two flight recorders.
The Indonesian passenger flight departed Jakarta on its way to Pontianak in West Kalimantan but disappeared four minutes after departure on Saturday at 14:40 local time (07:40 GMT). With Sriwijaya Air stressing that the aircraft was in good condition, the pilots did not send out an emergency warning.
