According to TMZ, the hip-hop giant had an aneurysm on Monday and was immediately rushed by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He was directly admitted to ICU, where he remains as of Tuesday.

A source very close to him said that the 55-year-old producer is in a “stable and lucid” state. Doctors don’t know the exact cause of the bleeding and are performing a series of tests.

Dre is in the middle of a contentious divorce with his estranged wife Nicole Young. Young is seeking $2 million a month in temporary spousal support and $5 million for attorney fees. She expects a judge to reject the prenuptial agreement she signed in 1996, claiming Dre ripped it early on in their marriage.

A court hearing is scheduled for Wednesday in L.A. Given Dre’s present condition, the judge will likely delay it.

UPDATE: LL Cool J has shared an update on Dr. Dre’s condition, saying that he is on the road to recovery. “Dre is recovering nicely,” LL tweeted.
