President Donald Trump on Saturday nominated Amy Coney Barrett as the new judge of the US Supreme Court.
The seat was eventually vacated after Supreme Court Judge Ruth Bader Ginsberg died Friday at the age of 87.
Speaking at an election rally in the state of North Carolina, President Trump said he would nominate a judge despite opposition Democrats.
Trump has nominated Amy, a favorite of social conservatives.
