US President Donald Trump is spending time on Nevada to woo the Joe Biden supporters and raise funds for his money-draining election campaign.

Trump opened a three-day campaign swing through the West on Saturday by claiming Democrats are trying to steal the upcoming election and warning that Joe Biden is incapable of leading the country.

Nevada is a state Trump lost in 2016, but that his campaign sees as a critical part of a backup path to re-election, as his current electoral odds continue to shrink in states he won narrowly that year.

According to several opinion polls, the state of Nevada is favouring Joe Biden. The polls have come back to haunt Trump as even in the 2016 elections, Trump was trailing behind the then Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in Nevada.

This rally was important for Trump as this was his one opportunity to prove to the people of the state that he is the right fit to run the country.

However, the rally attracted a lot of criticism as Trump's rallies have been hosting audiences of thousands of people, who are usually spotted without any face mask and are seen defying social distancing rules.

Trump predicted at a campaign rally in Nevada that he would win a second term, but he told supporters that Democrats are trying to "rig" the election.

"It's a rigged election that's the only way we're going to lose," he said, without offering any evidence, during the rally at Minden-Tahoe Airport, about an hour south of Reno.

Turning his attention to his Democratic challenger, Trump said: "Joe Biden cannot lead our country because he does not really believe in our country."

The campaign had to make last-minute changes to the event locations, originally planned at airport hangers in Reno and Las Vegas, due to the state’s coronavirus restrictions banning gatherings of more than 50 people.
